This is a very interesting tool that was used in conjunction with the Barkus book "Know the Escapement" that was published in the 1940's. This neat tool shows the many different problems encountered with balance staffs in watches.

This is an interesting copy of a paper that was enclosed with the Barkus Escapement tool. It is a form of a Chess game that is used to correct escapement problems found in watches.

This is the advertisement for the Barkus Escapement Model. These are great tools that explain common escapement problems in watches. I have some actual pictures of this neat tool and will post some of them at a later date.
