It is important that people understand, that watch repair is a very technical field. It requires specific tools, especially when working on a fine Rolex watch. In addition, we will NOT cut corners when it comes to watch repair. It does not matter if the watch is a 7 jewel pocket watch, or a fine Rolex watch. We treat all of them with the care that they deserve.
Another thing, when we work on a watch, it is taken completely apart. Each part is properly cleaned and inspected for defects. The watch is cleaned using the very latest in cleaning machines. It is put back together, with great care, and each part that requires lubrication is properly oiled with the correct lubricant. This takes time to do the job in a correct manner.
Many companies, never take a watch apart to service it. They simply throw the entire movement into a cleaner, that contains a substance called Miracle Lube or one called Plasti Lube. These products, do not perform well at all. In many cases, we have serviced watches cleaned in this manner. The barrel of the watch is loaded with this substance, and in many cases, it has leached out of the barrel and contaminated the entire watch movement. This is a practice that can in fact ruin a beautiful watch movement.
So, the fact of the matter is this. We do the job right the first time. You simply can't cheat the watch. If we get a few complaints, about the amount of time it has taken to get the correct parts, and to do the job right, and to get the watch back into the customer's hands, we apologize. But one thing for sure, we will never have to apologize for poor workmanship.
