The COSC now tests the movements entrusted to it by industrial vision tests powered by robot handling systems.

The sensor used is a CCD cell coupled with an optical sensor which detects the position of the seconds hand (black) on the dial division (white). A system of reference points enables absolute centering of the image (by translation and rotation of the axes) and renders the measurement insensitive to the tolerance of movement position under the camera. Each BO uses a time base made up of 2 atomic clocks synchronized on GPS time. Data recording and calculation are entirely automated, using computer software.
