A scarce gents Rolex Oyster Lincoln wrist watch, Switzerland circa 1940's.
This vintage manual winding watch has a classic stainless steel cushioned shaped face with second and minute hands. Such watches were made popular by soldiers during WWII because they were small which avoided damage during battle, light and kept very accurate time.
The overall condition is excellent with the watch having all its original parts inside and out and is keeping good time (a new strap and a professional clean would be wonderful, we are however leaving that up to the buyer due to individual preferences). The black leather strap measures approximately 8 3/4 inches and the face has a 2.7 cm by 2.7 cm.
The watch crown bears the Rolex crown symbol and Rolex Oyster Lincoln on the dial . the screw in cover has 3388 on the back and on its inside Oyster Watch Co Geneva Swiss, Great Britain Patents, Swiss Patents, French Patents, USA Patents, German Patents, SAR RM 118681. The black ink seen refers to the number of times it was serviced. Inside on the mechanism is written Swiss Made AF / RS.
A handsome classic for the vintage connoisseur.
