Watch Repair Service Priorities Update By Categories.

We have evaluated our watch repair service priorities and have found it necessary to make some changes that will better suit our business operations while at the same time will help our customers and clients better understand the time elements involved in the repair of watches. It appears that some customers have the misunderstanding that all watch repairs can be accomplished within a few weeks no matter what the watch is and no mater how complex the repair is. This concept is false. Rarely are any two repairs exactly the same. We are also aware that some very good watch repair shops state directly that "repairs take at least one year to complete and others may take as long as two years." They continue to state, "that if you do not like this time frame, please send your watch elsewhere." These policies seem rather stern, but if it works for them that is fine as they know their business and we do not.

Following is our Service Priorities by categories of watches and time periods involved to complete required repairs and maintenance.

First Priority. Rolex watches. General service is two to three weeks. If diamond bezels are ordered or if your dial needs to be refinished the time period may be three to four weeks. This is total turn-around time and includes both men's and ladies Rolex watches.

Second Priority. American made pocket watches. This includes railroad grade watches to low jewel count pocket watches. The average turn-around time is three to four weeks. This can also vary depending on the volume of First Priority repairs and the availability of pocket watch parts.

Third Priority. All other mechanical watches such as ladies vintage wristwatches and other American made mechanical watches. The turn-around time is totally at our discretion and it may take several months before you can expect this type of repair to be completed. This is due to the availability of parts and other jobs that take priority in our shop.

Fourth Priority. This involves pocket watch case hinge repairs and jewelry repairs of all types. The turn-around time for this type of repair is totally at our discretion and it may take several months before you can expect repairs of this type to be completed.

Please note that we are not responsible for delays caused by our suppliers due to the backorder of watch parts and material supply issues. Most parts that we use in our day-to-day operations are available at our shop which facilitates prompt service.
