Often watch hands are found with rust or where the blue color has worn off. It is a very simple thing to refinish these hands.

There are several methods, one that I like is using a copper blueing pan and using heat. This works very well. It is best to fill the pan with a layer of brass filings. Doing this will allow the hands to heat at a uniform rate.

No mater what method one uses, it is important that the watch hands be polished prior to the refinishing process.

The next method that I really like is using a product call TruBlu. This is sold with many different colors that can be applied to any watch hand. The red color is great for doing dual time zone pocket watch hands.

The following picture shows the very simple directions for using this product.

While painting the hands, they can be held in a balance tack. This works great and the results are fantastic.:D
